Affirmations have been part of spiritual practice for over a century – but most people use them in a way that doesn’t work. Rev. Ken Daigle breaks down exactly what makes an affirmation land, and what keeps it from taking root.

TRANSCRIPT:

One of the greatest teachings that the New Thought traditions have given us is the power of affirmations. We see them everywhere in life now, but they started from the New Thought traditions in the late 1800s.

One of the most simple ways is to put “I am” in front of a statement. I am wealthy. I am rich. I am powerful and strong. Those statements stated with conviction and in the present tense – not “I will be rich” – “I am rich.”

And they have to be also grounded in truth. So I can state, “I am rich,” because I know I have a wealth of opportunities, I have a wealth of resources, and I have a wealth of experiences that bless my life. My children, my work, my family, the land that I look at as I look out these windows. I don’t own it, but boy, is it beautiful.

So I am rich because I am here on this planet, drinking in all of life’s abundance.

I invite you to try affirmations. Remember: present tense, grounded in truth, relentlessly positive. I am so grateful.

From the Book

In Step 1 of Unapologetic Manifestation, Ken writes that vague intentions produce vague results – ‘What happens in vagueness stays in vagueness.’ Affirmations work precisely because they force specificity: they require you to name, in the present tense, what you are choosing to be true. That clarity is where conscious creation begins.

Go Deeper

If this way of working with affirmations resonates with you, the full framework goes much deeper. Rev. Ken Daigle’s book walks you through all five steps of this disciplined, spiritual, and practical process – not magical thinking, but a proven path to creating the life you want.
