YOUR ABUNDANCE JOURNEY BEGINS ON SUNDAYS
One of the great spiritual principles of manifestation is surprisingly practical: you must make room for what you are asking to receive.
That sounds simple enough until you look around your own life.
Right now, our home is full. With three adults and two children living under one roof, it doesn’t take long for closets, drawers, shelves, and countertops to fill up. Every week, piles seem to appear somewhere, quietly waiting for someone to deal with them. I’ve realized that if I wait until I have an entire day to organize the house, it simply won’t happen. Life is too full-and honestly, that’s a wonderful problem to have.
Instead, I’ve learned to think differently. Rather than trying to conquer the entire house, I simply ask myself, “What can I do today?” A drawer. A shelf. A box. Even my wallet. Little by little, the clutter begins to disappear, and something even more important begins to happen. I start creating room for whatever life wants to bring next. This isn’t a one-time project. It’s a daily practice. Every day I ask myself, “What can I release today?”
Ironically, the busier my life has become through writing, speaking, teaching, and living the very principles I share in Unapologetic Manifestation, the more intentional I’ve had to become about creating space. New opportunities, new relationships, and new responsibilities all bring new things into my life. If I never release anything, eventually there is no room left to receive what is trying to arrive.
Years ago, while preparing myself emotionally for a new relationship, I hired a feng shui consultant. She walked into my apartment, looked around for a few minutes, and then asked a question that completely caught me off guard.
“Where would your future partner put his things?”
I laughed, and then I looked around. My closets were full. My dresser drawers were packed. There wasn’t an empty shelf in the bathroom. I had been praying for a relationship while living as though there was no room for another person in my life.
That moment stayed with me because I realized it wasn’t really about closets. It was about readiness. Our outer lives often reveal our inner consciousness more honestly than our words do.
We say we want change while clinging to old habits. We pray for abundance while holding tightly to things we no longer need. We ask for new relationships while protecting ourselves with old fears. We seek a new future while refusing to release yesterday.
Making space is an act of faith.
Every drawer we clean…
Every possession we release…
Every resentment we forgive…
Every outdated belief we question…
Every fear we surrender…
quietly declares something to life and to ourselves:
I am ready for something new.
Sometimes abundance doesn’t begin by acquiring more. Sometimes it begins by releasing what is standing in the way.
PRACTICE FOR THE WEEK: Clear One Space
Choose one small area:
- a drawer
- a shelf
- a closet
- your car
- your calendar
Clear it intentionally while holding the question: “What am I making room for?”
